Project Initiation

A project is a set of tasks that must be completed in order to achieve a specific goal or outcome. Depending on the size and scope of the project, these tasks can be simple or complex, but all projects can be broken down into goals and what needs to be done to achieve them. The project management process begins with the conception of the project and continues throughout the project life cycle. This requires detailed knowledge of the company's resources and their allocation to complete tasks, duties, events and other projects. Examples of these industries include construction, IT, engineering, marketing and advertising. All teams working together to achieve a common goal run a kind of project management.

2. A project should always have specific goals and objectives to be achieved.

3. Projects require resources, and this is an important factor in the planning phase.

6. A quiescent object remains quiescent and a project is no different. It requires human effort to complete.

7. All projects involve risks, and these risks must be identified and taken into account during the planning phase to ensure they do not turn into real problems.

8. Quality metrics are applied to the results. It is to ensure compliance with manufacturing standards such as ISO standards or that users of the product are satisfied that the product is suitable for its intended purpose

These eight characteristics are universal enough to cover a wide range of activities, and in fact, projects are as diverse as those who implement them imagine. We considered two types of projects as examples: a third world charity project to build a well and a landscape design firm to modify an existing garden. By drawing the definition of the project, highlighting its characteristics, and giving concrete examples, the true meaning of the project was made clearer.

We took a closer look at the project lifecycle. The life cycle helps to conceptualize the beginning and end of a project and is divided into five control phases. The purpose of this project split is to help you determine what each phase should do, who will be involved in that task, what resources will be needed, the risks involved, and how long each phase will take.

a) Initiation is the creation of a project in the project office, which entails the definition of project objectives, major and secondary objectives, and a time frame and timetable for the achievement of anticipated objectives.

b) Planning is the discipline of how to complete a project within a specific time frame, usually with specific milestones and dedicated resources.

c) Executing means start of the project. It is important to understand that you can move between execution and planning.

d) The goal of project management is to ensure that project objectives are achieved with desired quality while meeting planned schedules and costs.

e) Most important part is closing. At tis stage project formally closed and all documentation is signed off/ approved.

For this life cycle top/down budgeting must be considered because of it's slow pace at the start and the end but very fast progress in the middle.

J-shaped

Bottom/up budgeting must be considered because progress is very slow but finished in very fast pace at the end.
